Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Arne is an actor, writer, dancer, and director. His short films have played the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, where The Best Day of Our Lives screened in the “Best of Fest” program, Defy Film Festival, The Kansas City LGBT Film Festival, and on exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Online, they’ve been featured on Director’s Notes, NoBudge, where Garbage won a “Spirit of NoBudge” award, Vulture, NewNowNext, Film School Rejects, and Out Magazine.
As a dancer, Arne is best known for freaking out in Fitz and The Tantrums’ video The Walker. He can also be spotted in videos and shows for Peaches, Margaret Cho, Arcade Fire, Pharrell, Lydia Ainsworth, Kenzo's fashion film Club Ark Eternal (choreographed by Ryan Heffington), and in the final season of Justin Simien’s Dear White People and Andrew Dominik’s film Blonde.
He’s worked extensively in performance art and experimental theatre and has performed at The Ace Hotel, STARS, Non Plus Ultra, The Cavern Club, LACMA, O-Town House, Akbar, The Regent, Pieter Performance Space, Highways Performance Space, USC, Human Resources, CalArts, The Fonda, 18th Street Arts, PAM, LAX Arts, The Sweat Spot, Bootleg Theater, The Machine Project, and The Forum. In 2025, he acted in Asher Hartman’s “The Mommy Leaks the Floor” which premiered at New Theater Hollywood and was supported by the Performance Art Museum. The play was featured in Artillery Magazine and named a top 10 pick of the year by ArtForum. Most recently he starred in “The Circle” written and directed by Agnes Borinsky and supported by Cornerstone Theater Company at The Ford and “Open House” written and directed by Luna Izpisua Rodgriguez for the Now Festival at Redcat. He’ll be back onstage at Redcat this month for “The End is New”, a world premiere from Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff starring Mia Barron.
He graduated from the Gallatin School at New York University and has since trained at The Sweat Spot, The Groundlings, and with Marjorie Ballentine. He lives in Silver Lake.
